About me

My inspiration comes from my very much-loved Grandmother. Born before World War II, she always had an eye for design, colour, and quality. Her love of sewing, ducks and interiors has inspired me to follow my passion - upholstery.

At Web & Down we are taking an ethical stance on fast furniture.

I’m someone who’s absolutely passionate about giving old furniture a second life through upholstery and renovation. I truly believe that each piece of furniture has its own story, and I love helping people uncover its hidden beauty. Let me tell you why choosing to repurpose instead of buying new is not just good for your home but also great for the environment.

You’ve probably heard of “fast furniture”—the cheap, mass-produced stuff that looks trendy but falls apart after a few years. It’s easy to buy, but it’s not built to last. Sadly, a lot of it ends up in landfills, adding to the growing waste problem. Plus, making all that furniture requires a ton of resources, from chopping down trees to using energy and water, and it’s not always done in the most sustainable way.

That’s where I come in! Instead of tossing out that old chair or sofa, why not let me help you transform it? Most older furniture is built from better materials, like solid wood and high-quality frames, which means it’s worth saving. By reupholstering or refinishing, we can create something beautiful, unique, and you. It’s also a wonderful way to keep those sentimental pieces—maybe a chair from your grandparents or a couch you’ve loved for years—alive and well in your home.

And here’s the cherry on top: repurposing furniture helps reduce waste, conserve resources, and lessen your environmental footprint. It’s like giving a little gift back to the planet while getting something gorgeous and personalized in return.

So, if you’ve got an old piece that’s looking a little tired, let’s chat! I’d love to help you turn it into something amazing that you’ll treasure for years to come.
